Meditations

Everything has its time

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”

(Eclesiastes 3:1)

According to some studies, technified societies are beginning to suffer from an epidemic of Attention Deficit Disorder Syndrome (ADD).

We are incapable of waiting for anything.

To give a very close example, we can wait about three seconds for a web page to load. But for every additional second of waiting, 10% of visitors leave without seeing it, and look for another.

Even Amazon is looking into implementing what it calls “predictive shipping”. This consists of evaluating when a person is about to buy something in order to send it to a nearby waiting store. This way, when you order it, you can even have it the same day.

Y, a veces, estas prisas entran en la Iglesia. We want growth, we want results, and we want them now.

And if we don’t get them soon, with the current activities, we run to look for other recipes and try again.

We often forget that God has his time.

Sometimes it can take years, sometimes a lifetime, sometimes even centuries.

Because when God does something, he is not concerned only with the result. It also takes care of the process and the people who will be involved.

As happened, for example, in the case of the departure from Egypt.

Moses tried it in his own way and in his own time. But God had other plans.

We forget that when it is God’s time, there is nothing to adjust.

Everything fits together. Everything happens.
